Description

I just love how earthy and rustic this large hand-thrown stoneware jar is---great for holding a big hearty bunch of wildflowers

which would go on top become A&P

The seller I purchased this from speculated this house collapse might be product of an earthquake

from 1872 to 1881--patent dates or what I am not certain

The yellow over glaze is sort of one part mustard

Little Brass Shoe Match Holder/Striker with Nice Detail 1863 I just love how earthyJust a fun little thing, which I really like for the form of the shoe, and for match striker inlaid on the bottom, and for how shiny it is, reminding me a bit of the Monopoly shoe, too, which was always what I wanted to be! Brass, definitely with some age to it, I'd guess early 20th c. 1 7 8 x 1 x 9 16 and in very good condition, with plenty of strike left on the striker.
